Born Carl Reinhold Adolf Bennet on 19 August 1951 in Helsingborg, he got educated at the University of Gothenburg, after which he started to work at Kockums finance department in Malm? in 1970. It was in 1989 that he founded his Carl Bennet AB, through which he now owns stakes in seven different companies active in a wide range of industries: medical products, biomedical research, printing, dental products, forestry and investing. As most bankable of those investments is the publicly traded Getinge Group, where apart from owning a large stake he has served as chairman since 1997. Mr. Bennet also serves as principal owner and chairman of Lifco and Elanders, and he is the chairman of the University of Gothenburg and a director of the listed companies Holmen and Lundberg.
Carl Bennett (December 7, 1915 ??? May 16, 2013) was an American basketball general manager and head coach. He was born in Rockford, Indiana in 1915 and began his sports career by playing softball. He was recruited by Fred Zollner in 1938 and would remain on his staff, coaching the Fort Wayne Pistons briefly in the 1948???49 BAA season and later becoming general manager. Bennett would also launch a 15-year campaign to get Zollner inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, which occurred in 1999. Bennett died at the age of 97 on May 16, 2013.
