Danny Manning is a retired player in the NBA and college basketball coach for Tulsa who has a net worth of $7 million. Danny Manning earned his net worth as a basketball player for the L.A. Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks and the Detroit Pistons, as well as his career as the Head Coach of Tulsa. Manning began his basketball career in College playing for the University of Kansas Jayhawks. He was the all-time leading scorer in the Big Eight Conference and was honored as the Most Outstanding Player and a two-time All-American. He also earned the title of Big Eight Player of the Decade. Manning led his team to so many victories that the team was given the nickname "Danny and the Miracles." After College Manning was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1988 and because of his performance as a player was selected to play in the All-Star Game in 1992-93 as well as the following season. While playing for the Phoenix Suns he won the 1997-98 "Sixth Man Award" and in 1999 was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. During his last four seasons he played for several other teams and in 2003 retired from professional basketball and returned to the University of Kansas to become the director of student-athlete development and team manager and was promoted to assistant coach in 2007. He is now the head coach at KU and has been since April 4, 2012. Danny Manning was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1966 and is the son of former basketball player Ed Manning. He attended Lawrence High School and Walter Hines Page Senior High School in North Carolina. Manning has a son Evan who plays basketball for Kansas and a daughter, Taylor who also plays for Kansas on their Volleyball team.
Daniel Ricardo "Danny" Manning (born May 17, 1966 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi) is an American college basketball coach and retired player in the National Basketball Association. He is the current men's head coach at Tulsa. After retiring from professional basketball Manning became an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Kansas. He won the National Championship with the Jayhawks in 1988 as a player, and again on the coaching staff in 2008.
Considered one of the greatest players in University of Kansas history, he led the 1988 Kansas Jayhawks to the National Championship against the Oklahoma Sooners. Manning left KU as its men's basketball program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder after leading the Jayhawks to the 1986 Final Four and the 1988 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament Championship. The 6-foot-10 forward was the all-time leading scorer in the Big Eight Conference with 2,951 career points. He won the Wooden, Naismith, and Eastman Awards as the college player of the year in 1988. In Kansas's 83-79 victory over the University of Oklahoma in the 1988 NCAA Final, Manning recorded 31 points, 18 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. For his seemingly single-handed performance in propelling the underdog Jayhawks to the title, as well as the Jayhawks' less-than-impressive record going into the NCAA tournament (21-11, most losses of any NCAA champion), the 1988 Kansas team was nicknamed "Danny and the Miracles" and Manning was honored as Most Outstanding Player in the tournament. A two-time All-American while at KU, Manning was later named the Big Eight Player of the Decade.
Manning was selected to the last all-amateur USA national basketball team in 1988, which competed at the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. The team won the bronze medal, but was viewed as a disappointment, as they had been heavy favorites to win the gold until their loss to the Soviet Union in a semi-final game. Manning failed to score even a single point
