Hosni Mubarak is the former President of Egypt, former Egyptian politician and military commander, with a net worth of an estimated, $70 billion. Hosni Mubarak earned his net worth during his political positions as, Vice President (1975,) and then, President of Egypt from 1981 until 2011. He also served in the Egyptian Air Force, as career officer and commander (1972-1975,) and eventually becoming the air chief marshall. Mubarak was forced to resign as President in 2011, through the protests and many demonstrations from the people to have him removed from office. He and his two sons were also held and questioned concerning charges of political corruption and using his power as President abusively. Mubarak was also accused of pre-meditated murder of innocent protestors, during the time of the revolution, as well as, being suspected of having something to do with the assassination of former President Anwar Sadat. President Sadat had appointed Mubarak to be his Vice President in 1975, and Mubarak met with many important political figures and took part in all meetings, in support of Sadat's policies. He was considered Sadat's right hand man, and no one wanted to cross him. Mubarak took over as President, after Sadat was killed by the military Jihad cell. During Sadat's Presidency, Egypt was suspended from being a part of the Arab League, because of his peace treaty with Israel, but suspension was lifted after Mubarak took over the office. There were several assassination attempts on Mubarak during his time in the Presidential seat. The Jihad cell tried to eliminate him, while he attended a conference, at the Organization of African Unity. It was also said that he was attacked with a knife and suffered injuries. Mubarak was elected to four terms as President, although, there is a question as to whether the election was legitimate or not. Under President Mubarak's rule, the people and politicians were jailed and held without trial, people were persecuted and privacie's were invaded. The government was allowed to arrest and hold people without any reason, for as long as they deemed necessary. Demonstrations, any political organizations that aren't approved by the government and any donations that were not approved were banned. This was called the Emergency Law. Mubarak may be facing the death penalty for the murder of peaceful protestors, if found guilty. On the charges of destroying the nations financial stabilty, he was ordered to pay LE200 million. On August, 3, 2011, Mubarak and his sons, Alaa and Gamal were brought before the courts in North Cairo, and charged with corruption and premeditated murder. Mubarak has pleaded not guilty and the second court session is scheduled for August 15, 2011. His two sons were taken to Tora Prison to await their trial, but Mubarak had apparently suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Hosni Mubarak was born in Kafr-El-Meselha, Monufia, Governorate, Egypt, in 1928. After graduating high school, Mubarak earned his bachelors degree (in military sciences) at the Egyptian Military Academy, and afterwards became a military pilot for the Air Force Academy, where he earned his B.A. in Aviation Sciences. He is married to Suzanne Mubarak and has two sons, Alaa and Gamal.
Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak (Arabic: ???? ???? ????? ??????, Egyptian Arabic pronunciation: [mae'?aem:aed '?osni 'saejjed mo'b?:???k], Muhammad Husni Sayyid Mubarak; born 4 May 1928) is a former Egyptian politician and military commander. He served as the fourth President of Egypt from 1981 to 2011.
Mubarak was appointed Vice President of Egypt in 1975, and assumed the presidency on 14 October 1981, following the assassination of President Anwar El Sadat. His almost thirty-year presidency made him Egypt's longest-serving ruler since Muhammad Ali Pasha. Before he entered politics, Mubarak was a career officer in the Egyptian Air Force, serving as its commander from 1972 to 1975 and rising to the rank of air chief marshal.
Mubarak was ousted after 18 days of demonstrations during the 2011 Egyptian revolution when, on 11 February, Vice President Omar Suleiman announced that Mubarak had resigned as president and transferred authority to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. On 13 April, a prosecutor[which?] ordered Mubarak and both his sons to be detained for 15 days of questioning about allegations of corruption and abuse of power. He was then ordered to stand trial on charges of premeditated murder of peaceful protestors during the revolution. These trials officially began on 3 August 2011. Egypt's military prosecutors then also proclaimed that they are investigating Mubarak's role in the assassination of his predecessor Anwar Sadat. On 2 June 2012, Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison.
Mubarak was born on 4 May 1928, in Kafr El-Meselha, Monufia Governorate, Egypt. He is married to Suzanne Mubarak, and has two sons: Alaa, and Gamal.
Upon completion of high school, he joined the Egyptian Military Academy, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences in 1949.[citation needed] On 2 February 1949, Mubarak left the Military Academy and joined the Air Force Academy, gaining his commission as a pilot officer on 13 March 1950 and eventually
