Sanjay Vadera net worth: Sanjay Vadera is a Ugandan entrepreneur who has a net worth of $11 million. Born in 1967, Vadera moved to England with his family when he was five years old. He grew up in Bolton and went to Manchester Polytechnic, where he studied computer science and physics. While in college, he opened up a fragrance concession stand, sourcing fragrances from Dolce & Gabbana and Hugo Boss. At Manchester Polytechnic, he formed his own company, Per-Scent. In 1992, he teamed up with Superdrug, who was looking for a seller of perfumes, but had not been able to purchase from the big brands themselves. After a three-month trial, Superdrug allowed Per-Scent to be their lone provider, and the company grew greatly as a result of the expanded business. Today, Vadera is CEO and chairman of a number of companies, including Per-Scent, The Fragrance Shop, Perfume Point and Fragrance and Beauty. The Fragrance Shop has grown to over 130 stores throughout Europe, and was mentioned at both the Manchester Evening News Business of the Year Awards and the Growing Business Awards. Vadera makes his home in Bolton with his wife Rita and two songs. He's a Manchester City ticket holder.
Sanjay Vadera was born in Uganda but lives in Bolton, Greater Manchester. He is a self-made millionaire and made his fortune through the distribution of perfume.

Sanjay Vadera came to England in 1972 when he was 5 years old as a refugee from Uganda, to escape the regime of dictator Idi Amin. Vadera and his family had a good lifestyle in Uganda but had to leave their valuables behind and arrived in Britain with nothing. He grew up in Bolton with his family and went to Manchester Polytechnic to study computer science and physics. During his time at university he had the opportunity to open a fragrance concession and began to source fragrances such as Hugo Boss and Dolce & Gabbana. From there he formed his fragrance company Per-Scent and Sanjay won his first contract with Superdrug which really launched the business.
A friend helped Sanjay to get started by providing him with an office and a telephone line. He was Vadera's mentor in the early days but has since died. To expand his business, Vadera needed to borrow ??20,000 but the banks were cautious, so he turned to his parents who offered to use their home as security. Initially, Sanjay sourced top brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Hugo Boss from approved retailers who had excess stocks and he sold them to secondary market retailers who were unable to deal directly with the brand houses. In his first year, he turned over slightly more than ??1 million. His big break came in 1992 when he heard that Superdrug wanted to sell perfume but were unable to buy directly from the brands. After a successful three-month trial period, Per-Scent was given preferred supplier status by Superdrug and Per-Scent's turnover reached ??6 million. Today Per-Scent's customers include several blue chip companies and in the financial year ending April 2012 had a turnover of ??56.8 million.
