Steve Martin, born August 14, 1945 is an actor with a net worth of $110 million. In the 1970s, Martin performed comedy routines on national tours, before moving into acting in the 1980s. His first job was at Disneyland, where he perfected his skill at magic tricks, juggling, balloon animals, and banjo playing. He originally enrolled at California State University in Long Beach to major in Philosophy, but in 1967 transferred to UCLA to pursue theater. At age 21, Martin dropped out of college. In 1967, Martin's former girlfriend Nina Goldblatt helped him land a writing job for Mason Williams, and won an Emmy in 1969 for his work on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. In the 1970she frequently appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as a stand-up comedian, which led him to appear on Saturday Night Live and HBO's On Location. He continued to write comedy, recorded albums "Lets Get Small" and "A Wild and Crazy Guy." Steve Martin began his acting career in the late 1970s with a short film, The Absent-Minded Waiter, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Film, Live Action. In 1979 he co wrote and starred in the movie The Jerk, which grossed over $73 million at the box office. Into the 1980s, Marin joined comedians like Chevy Chase and John Candy in films like Three Amigos and Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. In 1991 he appeared in Father of the Bride, followed by a sequel in 1995. He continued to act throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s with films like Out-of-Towners, Bringing Down The House, and Cheaper By The Dozen, which earned over $130 in theaters. In 2005 he wrote and starred in Shopgirl, and has continued his career with Cheaper By The Dozen 2, The Pink Panther, Baby Mama, and It's Complicated.
