Viktor Kharitonin derives his fortune from the pharmaceutical company Pharmstandard, where he holds a 38% stake. It was in 1993 that Kharitonin started to build his company, which now has a market capitalization of more than $3 billion. At the time, he teamed up with billionaires Roman Abramovich and Evgeny Shvidler to purchase plants from US ICN Pharmaceuticals Russian and thus set the base for Pharmstandard.
