Xiu Li Hawken Net Worth: Xiu Li Hawken is a Chinese-native businesswoman who has a net worth of $1.5 billion. A London resident now, Xiu Li Hawken accumulated her fortune along with her brother as they leased air-raid shelters and turned them into popular shopping malls in their native China. Born in Harbin, northern China, Hawken moved to Britain in 1991 to learn English. Already a reporter, she started to work in finance and there he met her future husband Tony Hawken, a teacher. Once they wed, Xiu Li returned to China to help her brother build the real estate investor Renhe Commercial Holdings, which owns and manages more than 22 (mostly underground) malls in 15 cities across the country including up-and-coming cities like Yueyang in Hunan Province and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province. Anthony joined his wife in China and stayed there for a while, but returned to Britain to raise their son, while Xiuli stayed to focus on the business. Serving as a non-executive of Renhe Commercial since it was listed in Hong Kong in 2007, Hawken also holds a 49.7% stake in Renhe, which is now worth ?1,066m. Apart from being one of the richest women in the UK, Xiu Li Hawken and her family live in a modest home in South Norwood, near Croydon.
